Great Weekend for Canadian Ski Jumpers!

Great Weekend for Canadian Ski Jumpers!

January 20, 2015 News

With the Continental Cup series finished for the winter, our Canadian girls head to Oberstdorf Germany for World Cup.
Anette Sagen of Norway won the overall COC title and Taylor Henrich finished in 2nd place! The two jump competition saw Taylor Henrich on the podium both competitions with a win and second place. Jasmine Sepandj ranked in the top 10 finishing a respectable 6th and 8th place.

Elsewhere in the world……. here is how the Canadians did:

Japan: National athlete Trevor Morrice had a 19th place finish in his 3rd event on the weekend, up from finishing 50 & 52 in the previous two (tough competitors and weather).

Slovenia: Tough competition at the FIS cup for National athlete, Josh (39th both days) and Alberta athlete Nigel (63rd & 51st).

Our Alberta athletes had a strong showing in the USA. Congratulations to the girls for taking all podium positions at the II Eau Claire – US Cup in Wisconsin USA- Natasha Bodnarchuck ( 1st), Abi Strate (2nd), Nicole Maurer (3rd) and Eloara Hamming (4th). Ollie Munn and Joey Van Lierop also put pressure on the USA athletes with strong 4th and 5th place finishes respectively.

Good luck this week Canadians!
