Calgary Elks Golf Club – July 16, 2015 (2pm Tee Off) 100% of tournament proceeds will be directed to Right To Play, Ski Jumping Canada and Nordic Combined Ski Canada

Ski Jumping Canada and Nordic Combined Ski Canada have teamed up to support Right To Play by hosting the first annual fund raising golf tournament in Calgary. Each of these organizations have a common purpose of helping children, youth and our Canadian athletes to become the best they can be through sport.

Right To Play is a global organization, using the transformative power of play to educate and empower children and youth. Through playing sports and games, Right To Play teaches children essential life skills that help them overcome the effects of poverty, conflict and disease so they can create better futures and drive lasting social change in their communities and beyond. Right To Play has brought benefits to many children and youth around the globe and are now extending that same level of commitment and support to western Canada.

Ski Jumping Canada and Nordic Combined Ski Canada are the national sport organizations for the sports of ski jumping and nordic combined. The national teams are currently comprised of 9 athletes, 5 of whom are Olympic veterans. The team is not funded by any level of government and relies on grassroots fundraising, part time jobs (on top of elite level training) and a few corporate sponsors to operate the team.

In spite of these hurdles, the teams have generated some great results for Canada, recently winning 2 World Cup bronze medals.

Please join with members of Calgary’s business community and some of our local Olympians to support our children, youth and athletes.
