Next Generation of Canadian Ski Jumpers to Represent Canada at the World Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne

December 27, 2019 News

Calgary, AB, December 18, 2019– Ski Jumping Canada (SJC) announced today two members nominated to represent Canada at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in the sport of ski jumping. The Games will take place in Lausanne (Switzerland) from January 9 to January 22, 2020.

Stephane Tremblay and Noah Rolseth both from Calgary will represent Canada at the Youth Games in the men’s individual competition on Sunday, January 19th. “With the shuttering of the ski jumping facilities in Calgary, both athletes have been training extensively in a much more competitive field in Europe and the United States. Under coach’s Ted Bafia and Wesley Savill, these athletes have the skill, drive and potential to do very well” said Ski Jumping Canada President Todd Stretch.

“The Winter Youth Olympic Games provide an excellent opportunity for our next generation of ski jumpers to gain valuable experience on the world stage and to perform at their very best, the Youth Olympic Games will be something they will remember for a lifetime,” said Stretch. The ski jumping portion will take place in Les Tuffes (France) from the 19th to the 22nd of January 2020. Lausanne 2020 is the third edition of the Youth Games and is expected to welcome many of the world’s best young athletes from 70 nations.
