FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships Countdown: 70 Days Until the Opening Ceremonies at Whistler Olympic Park

December 15, 2022 News

This international event will welcome 40+ countries and over 500 athletes to compete in three
Nordic Skiing disciplines at Whistler Olympic Park from January 27 to February 5, 2023.

SEA-TO-SKY CORRIDOR, BRITISH COLUMBIA November 15, 2022 – The early arrival of snow this
year is making many skiers happy and is a great reminder of the exceptional racing that awaits
at Whistler Olympic Park. Black Tusk Nordic Events Society, the Organizing Committee, is
currently working on the final preparations leading to the hosting of the FIS Nordic Junior/U23
World Ski Championships from January 27 to February 5, 2023.

“This event will attract the world’s best Nordic athletes to compete over 9 days at the Whistler,
Olympic Park, the legacy venue of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. From Cross-Country Skiing
to Ski Jumping and a combination of both disciplines, Nordic Combined, this is sure to be an
event that you won’t want to miss!”, said Norman Laube, Chairperson, Black Tusk Nordic Events
Society.

Canada will have a strong presence at this event. “Canada has an abundance of talented young
Nordic athletes, Black Tusk Nordic Events Society is proud to provide them with an opportunity
to compete at this world class venue at the highest international level. Many of Canada’s best
Junior and U23 athletes had the opportunity to compete here this past March at the North
American Cross Country Ski Championships and Ski Jumping Continental Cup.”, said Reid Carter,
Vice Chair, Black Tusk Nordic Events Society.

This event will be live streamed for the world to see! The Sea-to-Sky community not only has
the advantage of being able to take part in this event in-person and experience the international
excitement that such an event brings to our community, but also the opportunity to contribute
towards making this event memorable for these high performance athletes.
