FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships to welcome 38 Nations

FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships to welcome 38 Nations

January 10, 2023 Uncategorized

This international event will welcome 38 countries and over 530 athletes to compete in three
Nordic Skiing disciplines at Whistler Olympic Park from January 27 to February 5, 2023.

SEA-TO-SKY CORRIDOR, BRITISH COLUMBIA January 10, 2022 – We are less than 20 days away
from the FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships in Whistler Olympic Park!
Preparations for the World Championships are going well and there are now 38 countries, 530
athletes, and 300 support staff signed up. The very best nordic skiers from around the world will
be on our trails and ski jumps very soon and we can’t wait to host them!

“After 3 years of preparations leading up to this event, the Organizing Committee is thrilled to
welcome this large pool of talented skiers, who will be competing for the World Champion title.
These competitions are accessible to all in-person at Whistler Olympic Park or through our
professionally produced livestream. We expect this event to contribute a significant Economic
Impact to the Sea-to Sky Corridor!” said Reid Carter, Vice Chair, Black Tusk Nordic Events Society.

This is the first time the FIS Nordic Junior/U23 World Ski Championships have been held in
British Columbia and is a chance to see the next generation of nordic athletes compete on the
world stage. Black Tusk Nordic Events Society, the organizing committee, is currently working on
the final preparations leading up to the big event.

Be part of the action from January 27 to February 5, 2023 – join in the fun in-person or watch on
Livestream! Whistler Olympic Park will be open to the public for spectating as well as skiing,
snowshoeing, and sledding during the entire event. The Day Lodge will be fully open to the
public for food service as usual. Also be sure to check out the festival marketplace, showcasing
the top nordic vendors in the business. Come spend the day and help us cheer and celebrate!
Bring the whole family because spectator tickets are only $5 and are free for children under 6.

If you can’t make it to Whistler Olympic Park in-person, you can watch all the action on
Livestream. We have partnered with MESH Productions to produce a live TV quality broadcast
of the competitions and ceremonies. Each day, we will host a live English feed as well as an
international feed to be delivered to European broadcasters.
