Safe Sport
Creating safe environments is our top priority and is a responsibility we share with all sport participants. All individuals who participate in Ski Jumping in Canada have a right to participate in a safe and inclusive environment that is free of abuse, harassment, or discrimination, Ski Jumping Canada has zero tolerance for such behaviour. In line with this, Ski Jumping Canada has joined Abuse-Free Sport, the new independent program to prevent and address maltreatment in sport. The Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport UCCMS is the core document that sets the rules for conduct and behaviour to support us in continuing a respectful sport culture.
Effective January 31, 2023, Ski Jumping Canada, and its stakeholders, including national team athletes, coaches, support staff and officials, will have access to the services of the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC), which serves as the central hub of Abuse-Free Sport. This means that, from the date, any allegation of maltreatment or other prohibited behavior, as defined in the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS), against a UCCMS participant of Ski Jumping Canada must be filed directly with the OSIC: http://www.sportintegritycommissioner.ca/report. All such complaints or reports will then be addressed according to the policies and procedures of the OSIC.
To validate whether a complaint may be admissible to this service, or for assistance in filing a complaint, individuals may contact the Canadian Sport Helpline at 1 888 837-7678 or by email at info@abuse-free-sport.ca.
