Atsuko Tanaka Announces Retirement

May 10, 2018 News

It’s with sad hearts that we say goodbye to one of our best. Atsuko Tanaka has decided to end her career in ski jumping and move on in life.
Atsuko first broke on the scene getting a silver at the 2006 World Junior Championships, followed up with a COC victory and podiums that next summer. Still to this day she’s the youngest female to win a COC, which at that time was the highest level of FIS competition for the girls.
In the Sapporo World Cup in 2014 she had her career-best finish placing 4th. At the 2014 Winter Olympics, she placed 12th, which is Canada’s best Ladies result to date.
Atsuko, we wish you the best in your future! Thank you for representing Canada and all the ladies across the globe!
